Matt Dillon
Matt follows in the tradition of the classic singer-songwriter. His voice is smooth, strong, and confident, while his guitar playing is soothing and reflects his natural musical talent.
As a teen, his music was influenced by several artist and listening to his original songs, one can hear a true connection to artists such as James Taylor, CSN & Y, and Jesse Colin Young.
Matt has had a long career as an Electrical Engineer but this has not prevented him from spending much of his free time in his music studio. He has spent many years perfecting his sound and not only writes and arranges most of his music, but also produced his Stonewild CD.
He was raised in Hingham, Massachusetts, a small town south of Boston. The Crow Point neighborhood where he grew up is a close knit community and an area that has produced many talented musicians.
He started performing live at the local "Rathskellar" as a student at UMass Lowell. He then continued his musical journey appearing on the Boston coffeehouse circuit. During this time Matt performed as a solo artist as well as part of the duo Chopper and Dill.
Matt is joined on his CD by his son Nate on drums, long time musical partner Steve "Chopper" Lamb, and Keith Reid on keyboards.
His musical journey hasn't always been easy, but Matt has no regrets. He and his lovely wife Paula have raised three wonderful children. They have all contributed in their own way to the release of Stonewild.
Matt's work ethic and dedication are evident in this compilation. His music is a reflection of his character : strong, honest, and confident. Matt Dillon is an original. He has been influenced by the greats, but has found his own voice and crafted his own unique sound.
